Hackett & Rothery - The Roaring Waves event
THE ROARING WAVES ALBUM PLAYBACK IN 360° SPATIAL AUDIO plus Q&A
WEDNESDAY 16TH DECEMBER at 20:00
SOHO, LONDON
Two of progressive rock’s most celebrated guitarists, Steve Hackett of Genesis and Steve Rothery of Marillion, come together on their long-awaited collaborative album, The Roaring Waves.
Across seven instrumental tracks, the record moves from the dazzlingly playful to the deeply sublime, held together by one constant: the power and mystery of the sea. For Rothery, it’s a return to the coastline of his childhood in Whitby.
“In winter you could hear the roaring of the waves during the stormy weather. Whitby was a very evocative place to live, a very poetic and powerful place to grow up. So I suppose this record is a way of expressing some of those memories and emotions about what the sea meant to me.”
Now, we invite you to experience The Roaring Waves from start to finish, played back at Polygon Portal in 360° spatial audio. Every soaring guitar line, every swell and every crashing wave surrounds you completely. Followed by a Q&A with the artists.
This is The Roaring Waves as you’ve never heard it before.
