European Tour blog 2: Serene Spires and Sensational Shows
Having arrived in Germany, following such a fabulous reaction already in France, Belgium, Sweden and Denmark, we were once again thrilled by the Hamburg crowd!
We were glad to have a brief break in Hamburg, where we all enjoyed a team meal together. With pals Martina and Wolfgang, Jo and I also visited the ruined Mahnmal St Nikolai church, with its impressive bell tower. It was destroyed by a bomb in 1943 and stands today as a memorial “For the Victims of War and Tyranny 1933 - 1945”. Each time we visit Hamburg, we see something different…
All the shows following Hamburg in Aachen, Cologne, Stuttgart, Frankfurt and Leipzig went off equally well, with band totally on fire and playing brilliantly, plus totally ecstatic crowds!
Jo and I enjoyed meeting pals and exploring whenever it was possible. We were particularly impressed by the striking Gothic Cologne Cathedral, with its extraordinarily high towers.
As always, it was great to look on the beautiful scenery with all those hills and forests as we headed south and then on to Leipzig.
Thank you Germany! And many thanks as well to Solo, Brian, Adrian, all the promotors and everyone in the team.
We look forward to returning as soon as possible!
