The rooftops of Tallinn
Travelling through Scandinavia you realise just how fabulous the landscape is. Forests and lakes throughout with hills and fjords in the West... And the Baltic Sea is incredible.
After a terrific vibe at the Helsinki show, we crossed to Estonia by ferry through a magical archipelago of Islands, shining like gold rimmed gems in the sunlight.
We were spellbound by the Old Town of Tallinn. It was great to walk through the cobbled streets, under Medieval arches and past fairytale turrets and church towers. From the highest lookout is a spectacular view of ancient rooftops with a panorama that stretches to the sea. I've been to Tallinn before, but this time it shone in a totally new way sharing that enchanted place with Jo.
It's over twenty years since I last played in Tallinn and the band and I were overwhelmed by the totally positive audience reaction. The Stockholm gig was special too, and great for Nad to perform in his home town. Extraordinary snow storm the following morning! As our plane took off, you could see all the snow around the lakes and pines - beautiful.
The shows that followed in Oslo, Gothenburg and Copenhagen continued to thrill us with fabulous audiences. All stunning dynamic cities beside sparkling water, whilst people throughout were incredibly welcoming and felt like old friends. Once again my thanks to the promotors and agents.
Having just arrived now in Poland after two flights I must say I need a good night's sleep, but eagerly looking forward to the next leg of the tour...
