Coming round full circle back to the UK, we kicked off at the Birmingham Symphony Hall, which happened to be the final venue of the May 2013 UK Gen Rev tour. It's a beautiful place and was a fun gig. Talented Alan Reed was our support.

The following day I managed to fit in an interview at BBC Radio Bristol before the Colston Hall show. It's an extraordinary venue on several levels, and beneath the building are the slave vaults, a spooky reminder of a dark bygone era... But Bristol today is a viby multi-cultural city and the gig had a great atmosphere with fab audience.

The Royal Albert Hall show was altogether a most amazing experience and deserved its own blog Click here to view!. It was also fab to see so many friends and family together in that extraordinary place, and several people had travelled from abroad. It was a night we'll all remember forever.

Both Manchester and Newcastle were jumping with a powerful energy from fabulous crowds...

A sobering contrast the next day. In Liverpool I visited the Slavery Museum with Jo and Nad. As with Bristol, Liverpool once gained from its connection with the slave trade. Now the people of Liverpool have put together a powerful and enlightening exhibition about the horrors of slavery.

The Liverpool show had a fantastic vibe... And as always great to see friends there. Sheffield went really well with family in the audience as well and it was heart warming to have my brother John join the band for the Firth of Fifth flute solo.

Finally on to Cambridge for the last Genesis Revisited show of the year... And what an incredible show that was... The band played like demons and the crowd were ecstatic! It was one of the most amazing shows we've ever played. Lovely to have Amanda with us too who sang beautifully on both Shadow of the Hierophant and Ripples and ripped into Los Endos with us...

So the Genesis Revisited shows for 2013 ended on a real high, and we can't wait to resume again next year. My deepest thanks to band and team as well as all who came to the shows in every territory... Everyone together turned the tour all into the most fantastic experience!
