Rock around the ruins - July 2012

Rob and Steve go for it!

Joy of the sun...
Abbey Fest was held in Bury St Edmunds, where the romantic ruins of an old abbey adorn a beautiful park. To top it all, we had fantastic sunshine. The summer had finally arrived in its full glory!
The Hackett band was on the bill along with Paul Carrack, Jack Bruce and the Military Wives. It was really good to catch up with Paul and Jack, as well as Bill Wyman backstage, and to get together too with friends and my irrepressible Mum.
The gig took off from the start and it was fab to pick up on the audience's enthusiasm. They were a great crowd. I was thrilled to play in East Anglia which I've become very familiar with over the years of visiting Jo's family in Norfolk. It's all a stunning area with a strong sense of history.
My thanks to Brian, band and crew, and the helpful, friendly staff at the festival.
