Through thick and thin - December 10

Snow ahead...

Farnham gig

Pre-gig Christmas celebration
All those of you dreaming of a White Christmas have already had their dream come true, at least in these northern climes! As I gaze out of the window having abandoned my car yesterday to the slippery elements, I yearn for a motorised sleigh.
But back to music. The band's last gig this year at the Farnham Maltings on Thursday 16th was something else. The packed audience slid in and out of the picture book town, freezing outside but boiling inside the gig. The promoter Steve's team did a cracking job of helping to make sure we ended the year on a high with a full house.
It was an extraordinary gig and a family outing made all the more special by my brother John's guest appearance on flute for a sweet rendition of Hands of the Priestess. Mother June was once again spotted headbanging at the front with sister Betty, and Auntie Margaret was on hand to act as bouncer for all the naughty boys...
We've made every one of our band gigs this year, surviving vehicle breakdowns, frozen doors, erupting volcano, flight cancellations, storms and snowdrifts - it's all in a day's work and play for we happy band of wanderers. Once again for all those who attended the gigs, thank you for braving the extreme elements to join our end of year touring party.
As always a big thank you to all the band and crew, along with hard working tour manhandler Brian, all the promoters including Mark, Henry, Pod, publicist Sharon and my darling JoJo for helping to make my musical dreams come true.
