Magical majestic Rome!
As soon as we touched down in Italy we all felt a quickening of the spirit. Italy has that inexplicable pungent atmosphere, built up through the centuries through its incredibly rich history. Rome was there waiting for us as we entered via one of its beautiful bridges, adorned with statues of Romulus, Remus and the mother wolf.
Wonderful to be greeted by our dear friend Vania Santi, who then tour managed us alongside Adrian Holmes for the duration of the Italian tour. I was also thrilled that Mum was able to come over to Rome with pals Tish, Julie and Helena. Mum was the life and soul of all our gatherings, and partied into the night long after Jo and I had gone to bed... She is extraordinary! As always, it was special to play in the Eternal City...
The following day after the show we travelled north to Bologna, where we had a fantastic crowd reception, and then on to Turin. It was good to spend a bit of time catching our breath there and to wander some of the streets of that intriguing city with its magical historic past.
Both the Turin and Bergamo gigs had a special vibe. Italy is always so enthusiastic and welcoming...
