Exploring the city

Exploring the city

A week on from our return from Europe to the UK, band and crew all headed on Westwards to Ireland. The water sparkled below in the sunlight as we descended to Dublin Airport.

It was fortunate to arrive a day before the show, as it gave us all a chance to explore the city. Jo and I headed forth into the bustling throng to see sights like the beautiful River Liffey and majestic old buildings dating back to Medieval times including castle and cathedral... Our favourite place was the Brazen Head pub, at nearly 1000 years old, officially the oldest pub in Ireland. It felt like going back in time, ducking under those low wooden lintels and sitting with a candle beneath the dark beams, Irish folk music wafting through each room. The resident ghost apparently resides upstairs...

The Vicar Street show had a powerful feel with an ecstatic crowd! A fabulous vibe between band and audience...

The air might have a cold bite but the people make up for it with their enthusiasm and warmth. We look forward to returning as soon as possible!

Now on to Cardiff for the UK tour with a full tank of petrol and buzz of excitement...
