It was wonderful to be involved with the tribute to the late amazing Jack Bruce at the O2 Shepherds Bush Empire yesterday, organised by Jack's son Malcolm who did a great job bringing everyone together.
I thoroughly enjoyed letting rip with guitar on "Spoonful", brilliantly sung by Nathan James with amazing Gary Husband on drums and Malcolm Bruce on bass. The whole number took off like a rocket...
All the singers and musicians sounded powerful. Lulu's voice was a strong as ever. Despite Ginger Baker's health challenges, he turned in a mean drum solo. As always it was also great to connect with Bob Harris and his wife Trudy - two of the nicest people in the business.
A big thank you to Ben Fenner for all his help throughout the day, and to Malcolm Bruce for inviting me to join and making it all happen. An evening I'm sure Jack would be incredibly proud of.
