From the verdant greenery of the West Coast to the desert climes of Arizona, we immediately felt that dry heat as we left the airport whilst passing an abundance of cacti. The show that night at the Talking Stick Casino venue had an equally hot vibe with a great crowd.

The following day Jo and I with Cheryl Gallo (wife of photographer Armando) joined our friend Leigh Harris who drove us to Sedona. What an incredible place! Those majestic red rocks towered like gods overlooking the wilderness below. We took a jeep ride right up on to the rocks. It was great fun and pretty wild, sometimes at an almost vertical angle! The views were spectacular. We then hiked up to "Kachina Woman", known as a vortex between two sentinel rocks in breathtaking Boynton Canyon. Apparently you can key into a powerful energy in that place and there certainly did seem to be some kind of force field. You could feel a tangible ball of energy in your hand.

The following day we flew to Denver, followed by a drive to Boulder, nestled at the foot of the Rockies. The flat iron mountains just outside the town formed an impressive gateway to the snow-topped mountains.

In Boulder Jo and I found the beautiful Dushanbe Teahouse which had been brought over piece by piece from Tajikistan. Fantastic food and exquisitely exotic surroundings.

From the hot sun of Arizona and Colorado to snowy Quebec, we experienced a huge change of climate! We drove with our pals Cara and Greg into the forested mountains north of the city which looked like a real winter wonderland, and most of the roads beyond the main highway were buried under snow. Quebec was as beautiful as ever, with the old town's enchanting narrow streets, friendly atmosphere and wonderful food. Both the Quebec and Montreal gigs had a terrific feel with large and incredibly enthusiastic crowds. Since the early Genesis days there has always been a big welcome from French Canada... Following an equally enjoyable show in snowy Gatineau we took a flight to sub-tropical Florida for a two day break before the next show in Ft Lauderdale...
