Winter Londonland - December 11

Season's Greetings!

Season's Greetings!

Court and sparkle

It's been an action packed year with such an exceptional response to all the band work, or do I mean play? Civilian life always kicks in at this time, such a shock to the system after busy days and nights on the road. I travel, I play, I hotel, I fall over knackered nightly but with a smile on my face... Let the mince pie season commence with a singsong round the old computer - okay, a piano if you've got the space!

If you're drifting into London for a visit to see Oxford Street lights might I recommend a couple of alternatives. In my opinion there is no prettier sight in the metropolis right now than Sloane Square, where the enormous shimmering curtain of bedazzling silver on the face of the Peter Jones department store just begs to be seen in the flesh. You'll find a combination of Art Deco meets Disneyland, replete with exquisite fountain and Royal Court Theatre. Chelsea, once the exclusive denizen of royal mistresses, absinthe driven artists and later the embodiment of the swinging sixties, begins here with a fanfare and a flourish.

From fanfares to funfairs... I strongly recommend Winter Wonderland, the annual fair in Hyde Park set up to cheer the season in. Wrap up well, remember brollies, balaclavas, booties etc, then be a kid again for a while. You've earned it for God's sake!

Season's greetings to you all...
