Return to the studio - January 11

We're thrilled to be back - particulary Roger

We're thrilled to be back - particulary Roger

After about three years of having to forego recording in my studio, I'm now able to be back in there. A combination of heaters, air fresheners and the blast of an electric guitar have blown away the spectres of cold and damp which have crept in through the walls and cracks over time.

I managed to successfully record a whole album in my living room, but it feels good to have my home back and great to hear everything again at full volume. It'll also be fantastic to record Gary's drums here too - pounded at full throttle. Noise is not an issue for neighbours here in this soundproofed padded cell...

Roger and I have gotten off to a frenzied start which all sounds fab through big studio monitors. A combination of electric, acoustic and twelve string guitars of orchestral proportions are being employed on the current track. We're already running the gamut of styles from a delicate, seventeenth century dance ditty to the heavy thrust of a stampeding army of sound.

I'll keep everyone updated as we continue our journey into the Aladdin's cave of the new album...
