Over the course of the European release dates for Wolflight, I've attended various launch events.
The first two were in Germany. Both the Dortmund and Berlin events went off like a rocket and it was fantastic to meet many German fans in a fun, intimate environment. We had question and answer sessions, viewings of the two videos for tracks Wolflight and Love Song to a Vampire, I played some guitar and signed albums.
Before catching the plane back to London there was just enough time to take a look at the Brandenburg Gate, the Holocaust memorial, and the row of cobbles following the line of the wall that once divided Berlin.
The London launch was really good fun. Fab to see all there, including Steve Rothery, Roger Dean and most of the team involved with the album, to meet fans and sign copies. Our special friend Vania Santi came all the way over from Italy. Jerry Ewing who runs Prog Magazine hosted an entertaining and interesting discussion with questions and answers. My wife Jo joined to help give more info on the mysterious track Corycian Fire. Paul Gosling who directed the video for Love Song to A Vampire was there. Those videos look wonderful on screen and the music through the PA sounded incredibly powerful.
The following evening I played a brief acoustic guitar set followed by a signing session at HMV in Oxford Street, London. It was great to engage with everyone. Amazing to think the first HMV opened in that building in the late 1930s. It's a historic place with many memories. Good to meet the CEO of HMV there too.
It's felt like a whirlwind over these last few days, but an incredibly positive one! Many thanks to all those who made these really special events possible, including Inside Out, Century Media, Team Rock, HMV, the German Genesis fan club, Winfried Volklein, and many others.
