Narnia through the wardrobe
Now reaching the end of 2013, I look back on some extraordinary events.
From the first note of the Genesis Revisited tour which reverberated with a deep and powerful throb as the cruise ship's engine roared into life at the same second, we've indeed been on an incredible voyage. The tremendous support and feedback we've had has been terrific whilst every show has exploded into life with fresh vigour.
I'm thrilled the DVD / CD received such a fabulous response too. We're all looking forward to taking the show into next year as Genesis Extended, combining favourites from this year with Genesis classics we've not yet played... now with the addition of Nick Beggs to our band too, it all promises to be a colourful ride with a new twist!
Meanwhile, the latest album recording is getting well into its stride with a strong sense of darkness, light and contrasting dynamics. After a short Yuletide break this'll continue as soon as the studio fires are once again stoked...
A recent trip back to the C S Lewis house brought the magic of this time of year to life, particularly when I peered into the attic wardrobe containing a perfectly realistic Narnia scene complete with illuminated lamp post amidst trees and snow.
As we all reflect on this year with both its sad and joyful times, both Jo and I wish everyone a very happy Christmas and a great New Year!
